williams-60th-anniversary-300x229-1595325A celebration honoring the 60th wedding anniversary of Robert & Ruth Williams was hosted by their five children and their spouses, and attended by 57 of their 60 family members, on Saturday, July 9 at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Downtown Memphis. The Williamses were married on June 7, 1956 at Speedway Terrace Baptist Church in Memphis. They have lived on Ward Road in Millington in the only home that Robert ever built for the last 26 years and they have been faithful members of Temple United Methodist Church in Lucy, serving in many lay leadership capacities, for 58 years.
Ruth graduated from Humes High School and has long served as a homemaker as well as being employed for a few years at both Deneuville Heights and Barret’s Chapel Schools. Robert graduated from Millington Central High School and has worked as an auto body repair specialist for more than 40 years at Joe Stewart Body Shop in Memphis and for more than 55 years in total. The Williamses are also proud to claim 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren (with one on the way) as special members of their extended family with whom all they are very close. Congratulations Robert and Ruth and a wish for many more to both of you.
