Roelke’s services set for Friday

CHRISTINE ROELKE

Christine Ann Gojmerac Roelke, 89, of Millington, passed away at home surrounded by her family Monday, Oct. 17, 2016. Mrs. Roelke was born July 18, 1927 in Rib Lake, WI to George, Sr, and Mary Gojmerac. She graduated from Rib Lake High School and then the Business Institute of Milwaukee. She married Leon Roelke on June 18, 1955. She retired at age 70 after holding jobs at Pepsi­Cola Co., Civil Service on NAS Millington, and Southland Park Race Track. She had many hobbies including: roller­skating, where she won multiple competitions at the state, regional, and national levels; cake decorating, where she was well known for her wedding cakes and won many competitions at fairs throughout the region and in Millington; swimming; traveling, and bowling. She was also a very involved parishioner at St. Williams’ especially with the Women’s Auxiliary cooking and baking for church functions Mrs. Roelke is preceded in death by her husband, Leon; son, Terry Roelke; four brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her children: Susan of Bolivar, Rick of Millington, Judy of Hawaii, Diane(Keith) of Texas, Sharon(Mike) of Lakeland, Mary(Tom) of Millington, and Thomas(Christy) of Virginia; grandchildren: Mari, Kali, Erika, Corey, Kelsie, Alexis, Talan, Desire’, and Minjung Kim; great­ grandchild, Rhythm; and brother, Walter(Eleanor). Visitation will be Thursday, October 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home with a funeral mass Friday Morning at 11 at St. William’s Catholic Church in Millington. There will be a reception immediately following the mass for family and friends. Burial will be Wednesday, October 26 at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to a Catholic Charity or your choice. The family of Christine Roelke would like thank to everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
