Under cloudy skies, the smiles of Millington children and their guardians brighten up the parade route in Millington Saturday. Originally scheduled for 1 p.m., the 2016 Millington Christmas Parade moved up to 10 a.m. to beat the forecasted rain. As Santa and the Mrs. made their way down Navy Road, a few sprinkles started to drop. But the Parade participants had already thrown candy, performed and shared their holiday spirit. From all four Millington Municipal Schools (Millington Central High School, Millington Middle School, E.A. Harrold Elementary and Millington Elementary) made appearances with bands playing holiday music. Other area schools like E.E. Jeter, Bolton High School, Woodstock and more showcased. Area civic organizations and businesses were a part of the nearly hour and half event. The Parade traveled along Navy Road from Newport to C Street.
