Senior Club

The Millington Senior Citizen’s Club is meeting again Wednesdays at 10 a.m. with entertainment weekly. The club meets at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street. For more information, call 873-5770. 

Ladies Lunch & Shop

The Millington Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting the public out to the annual ladies luncheon titled Ladies Lunch & Shop Sept. 21 with shopping starting at 10 a.m. The lunch and program will start at 11:30 and shopping picks back up at 1 p.m. at Crosspointe Baptist Church located at 8850 Highway 51 North. For ticket information, to be a vendor or to sponsor a table, call the MACC Office at 872-1486. 

Youth Sport Clinics

Millington Parks and Recreation is proud to announce a collaboration with Millington Central High School on some youth sports clinics for a number of different sports. These clinics will be instructed by the coaches and players of Trojans sports team both past and present. Each of the clinics will be limited in the number of participants and the ages will vary by sport.

 Here is a list of the current clinics:

Ages are from 7-14 and the clinic will be from 9 a.m.-noon. There are 40 spaces available.

Basketball on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the MCHS Gymnasium at 8050 West Street

Boys are from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and girls from 2-5 p.m. This clinic is for ages 7-14. There are 30 spaces available for each.

Soccer on November 11 at the MCHS football stadium

Space is limited to the first 24 participants per session that register and pay their fees. This clinic is for ages 8-13. Girls will be from 1-3 p.m. Boys will be from 3-5 p.m.

 Wrestling on Sat, Oct. 28 at the MCHS Wrestling Gym at 5020 2nd St.

Clinic will be from 830-11 AM & will be for boys & girls ages 8-14 and there are 30 total spaces available.

 Softball on October 28 at the Millington SportsPlex at 4885 Bill Knight. 

Space is limited to the first 30 participants that register and pay their fees. This clinic will be from noon-3 p.m.

 Baseball on September 30 at the Millington SportsPlex at 4885 Bill Knight.

Meet A Need Giveaway

Meet A Need Outreach’s free clothing giveaway will be held October 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Greater United in Christ Holiness Church located at 128 Logan Drive in Covington (behind Tipton Pawn) For more information, visit Instagram @meet.a.need

Millington Library

The Library hosts free Adult Ukulele Lessons every Monday at 5 p.m., and there are other events like Afternoon Storytime at the Millington Public Library. For more information, call 872-1585 or visit 4858 Navy Road in Millington.

Millington Food Pantry

The Millington Food Pantry is located on the grounds of Millington First United Methodist Church at 8029 Wilkinsville Road, is available to qualified residents of 38053 living in Shelby County.  Hours of operation are each Tuesday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the third Saturday of each month 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Call 901-872-2771 to make an appointment.  Appointments are not made  in advance of the day the pantry is open.

CBC Monthly Meeting

The Millington City Beautiful Commission meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at the Millington IDB Building located at 7965 Veterans Parkway. The public is welcomed to attend. 

Senior Exercise

The senior exercise club meets Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Baker Community Center located at 7942 Church Street in Millington. For more information, call 873-5770.
