Saturday, the River City Chapter, NSDAR of Millington held a grave marking ceremony at Ames Plantation for Esther Alexander Moorman. She was the daughter of Revolutionary War Patriot Robert Alexander. Many members of the chapter are descendants of Robert, including two chapter officers, Regent Felicia Duncan and Recording Secretary Linda Heide. Robert Alexander was born in November 1746 in Augusta County, Va., and died November 20, 1820 in Campbell County, Va. He served as Captain in the Bedford County, Virginia Militia, was a Clerk of Court and also furnished supplies to the war effort.
