Today’s snow event will likely force postponements for all upcoming TSSAA district basketball tournaments.
Close to home, both Millington Trojan basketball teams were planning to kick off District 15-2A action this week. The Millington Lady Trojans earned a home playoff game originally scheduled for tomorrow night at 6 p.m. vs. the Bolivar Central Lady Tigers. Stay with www.millington-news.com for updates on when the game will be played. The winner of the Millington vs. Bolivar first round contest will qualify for the Region Tournament and advance to play the Covington Lady Chargers in the semifinals of district.
On the boys side, the Millington Trojans are scheduled to take on the Haywood Tomcats Wednesday on the road. The game, when played, will tip off at 7 p.m. Winner of that contest will be heading to Regionals and have a district semifinal showdown with the Fayette-Ware Wildcats. All district and Regional tournament games will be hosted by the higher seed with the new 2021 format brought on by COVID-19.
