Greetings! It is good to be back again! I hope you will enjoy this “Journey with Jule`” as I share with you on various topics, especially real estate and helpful tips.
Springtime is approaching quickly and it is time to get lawns, flower beds and other gardens up and going. If you are considering selling your home this is the perfect time to make your curb appeal more pleasant for potential buyers. Yes, it will take some effort on your part, but the payoff will be better in the long run.
While I am sure that most of you know how to make the exterior of your home look nice, here are some reminders for you to consider.
Cleaning gutters, grooming the lawn to include edging sidewalks, driveways, etc. , raking old dead leaves from the flower beds, removing spider webs, washing down porches, fresh coat of paint on the exterior doors and porch areas, NEW door mats in front of the entry doors, cleaning windows on the exterior of the home and freshening up patio furniture are among the things to consider to make your home inviting from the curb side.
Can you imagine driving up to a home that you were interested in viewing to be your future resident and it looks like no one cares about the property from the curb side? You know,,,The Munsters house for example. Ha ha. Well, that is a bit exaggerated, but you get the point.
Tools that you may need to make this “grooming” happen are garden gloves, large brimmed hat, loose fitting clothing, sharpened mower blades, trimmer for sidewalks and driveways, rake, hand rake, trash bags, broom, water hose, environmentally friendly soap for porches and windows, and good paint brush for painting doors.
Painting will require some prep work of course. Should you not prepare the surface correctly, the paint job will look bad and will be noticed as such.
This will also make the buyers think that other work that has been done to the home has not been done properly and will discourage them to purchase your home. This will probably not bring you top dollar for your home. Here is your handy dandy checklist to help beautify your home this spring:
Clean Gutters
Mow Lawn
Wash Patios
Trim Driveway
Wash Porches
Trim Walkways
Remove Spider Webs
Clean Flower Beds
Clean Windows (Exterior)
Rake Leaves and Grass
Freshen Patio Furniture

Have a nice glass of tea!
