St. Mark prepares for Second Annual Johnnie Alston Race

On September 20, 2014, St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church located in Drummonds, lost a beloved member to domestic violence. St. Mark Church and surrounding communities will be remembering Johnnie Patricia Alston with the Second Annual 5K family walk/run to continue bringing awareness to this senseless act of violence.  

The public is invite to the Johnnie P. Alston 5K Walk/Run on Nov. 5, 8 a.m., at Munford Elementary School, 1200 McLaughlin Drive, Munford.

Domestic Violence is suffered greatly throughout our surrounding Counties. The goal for the Johnnie P. Alston 5K Walk/Run is to raise a conscious awareness of domestic violence. Proceeds will fund domestic violence agency in Tipton County to assist survivors of domestic violence in the Tipton County and surrounding area’s and bring awareness to graduating seniors from Munford High School.

“St. Mark’s ability to continue educating and advocating its outreach is contingent upon the generous support and participation from our community’s residents, businesses and leaders,” a committee letter stated. “It is “Take a Stand” against domestic violence. We look forward to having you as a partner in this cause and seeing you, Nov. 5.
