Last month outside of Millington a man was charged after a woman was stabbed to death on April 20.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department announced the charges hours after the incident. According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the woman who was identified as Laura Christie was transported to Regional One in Memphis in critical condition after an “apparent dispute.”
The altercation took place in the 4000 block of Shelby Road just before 7 p.m. Investigators later confirmed Christie was rushed to the hospital and did not survive.
One person was detained on the scene. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed the next day that Jeremiah Carlisle was allegedly responsible for the incident. He is being charged with first degree murder.
