The Millington Star got an inside tour of Millington’s latest eatery this afternoon with Leach Family Restaurant (home cooking) located at 4750 Navy Road. Leach’s opened last week to solid reviews from the public. Star Sales Representative Whitney Fisher patronized the home-cooking of Leach’s already encouraging Star Editor Thomas Sellers Jr. to give it a try.
“Simply delicious,” Sellers said. “This taste like something Mommy would make. I’ve had Melanie’s growing up in Memphis. This is bringing back so many great memories.”
Leach’s Family Restaurant owner Michael Leach reviewed his pedigree in the business starting with his mother Jimmie 30 years ago at Melanie’s.
With an expanding menu, now residents of Millington and the surrounding area will get a chance to taste the Leach legacy.
The restaurant has future plans to be open on Sunday but for now the hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The eatery features a cafeteria style lineup of Southern food like corn bread, vegetables, spaghetti, fried chicken, candy yams, greens and more. For more information, call 873-0464.
