Greetings from the World of Real Estate with Julè. Life is good!
Now that we have had time to declutter, clean and regroup our homes it is time to move forward. Donation centers have not been taking donations such as clothes, shoes, furniture and so forth due to the Coronavirus situation. You may wish to contact them to find out when they will start up again. Please go online and refer to the latest Tennessee Executive
Orders for up to date information on the COVID-19 situation. You may also want to refer to your local government for their latest information. Staying safe is still of the utmost importance. I truly hope that this time of restriction has brought you and yours much closer and built better relationships.
Our area has been blessed with some beautiful weather lately. Have you gotten your lawn equipment ready to start the season of lawn maintenance? Is the garden hose in good condition? While driving in various neighborhoods I am seeing some lovely gardens. Adding some colorful flowers to your garden just brightens up your home and says you care. Your gardens, that are so well maintained, are a way of saying hello not only to your neighbors, but to prospective buyers. On the flip side, one that looks like Herman Munster lives there will certainly scare away those you may wish to attract for home purchase. A fun activity can be to include the children to help clean up the patio and patio furniture. Most people have been staying home for a while now for safety, so why not make tasks more fun. After cleaning up the patio and patio furniture, have a special treat. We love ice cream. When we were growing up, we enjoyed playing in the hose water. Washing the car was just as good a reason as any to have fun in the water.
Holding an open house event can be done in some creative ways. Sellers please speak with your realtor about holding a virtual open house for your home. When holding an open house, you want to ensure that the house is in fact “ready to show”. Neat, clean, no clutter, no pets. Your realtor can advise you how to properly prepare for your virtual open house.
Is your air conditioner functioning properly? The time to call a certified HVAC person is now before we are hit will the hot days of summer. They are approaching quickly. Check your A/C filter. How often do you replace the filter? Not replacing or cleaning your filter, depending on what type you have, can reduce the usage, and damage your A/C. If you have difficulty doing this task, please ask a family member, friend, or neighbor to assist. Please do not risk injury by climbing into the attic if that is where the unit is located.
I would like to touch on something that is very important to the small businesses and in the future. We can become conditioned to shopping the chains/bigger stores. The customer service you receive from locally owned and operated stores is generally much better.
Supporting our local businesses is so very important to our communities. This not only affects us now but will affect us later. We may be taking for granted some of the local shops that service our needs. The old saying “you don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone” will apply if we are not careful.
Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday, May 10. What a great opportunity to not only bring her some flowers, but maybe an indoor plant and/or outdoor plants to enjoy for more than a moment. Do you know what her favorite plants are? Bright cheery colors are always welcome to make someone’s day a little happier. Giving Mother the day off would be appreciated. Not just on Mother’s Day but preparing for the day as well. Have everyone help with the chores to clean the house, do laundry, tidy up, go do the shopping (if you can) for the meal you will prepare for her. Bake a cake, maybe even from scratch. Do not forget that cooking also includes cleaning the kitchen. Find your favorite Bible verses and share, play a board game or something else that you may enjoy doing.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
