There was a special recognition for Millington Trojan Basketball Head Coach Jewell Gates for more than 30 years of dedicated service to Tipton County, Memphis and Millington children through basketball. Organized by Briana Fields, his manager spends months researching Gates’ career. Fields learned about his impact on the community through interviews, yearbooks and updates on former players’ whereabouts. Gates shared the surprising moment with his daughter and parents.
