Star Staff Reports

The Millington Star’s Thomas Sellers Jr. designed a goat for the Millington Arts Council (MAC) in preparation for the 2016 International Goat Days Festival.

During Goat Days, the MAC held a contest to name the MAC’s Goat, and with more than 90 entries, MAC judges selected three overall winners for the goat’s name, backstory, and superpowers.

Hailey Camp, a second grader at Drummonds Elementary School selected the name Rainbow. Bailey Sullivan, a third grader at E.E. Jeter Elementary School provided the backstory that the MAC goat was created with a splat of paint. Kylie Gongas, a 12th grader at Millington Central High School identified that the MAC Goat had superpowers of keeping the world beautiful.

The MAC would like to thank everyone who entered the contest. Each entry was unique, making it difficult to select a single winner.

Special thanks to Hailey, Bailey and Kylie for making the MAC mascot a true reflection of what the world needs right now. Stay tuned to hear more about the adventures of MAC’s goat Rainbow.
