Customers should call 544-6500 to report an outage
Last Thursday night up in Tipton County, winds caused a power outage at the Munford Football Stadium during third quarter action of the 2020 M&M Bowl between the Millington Trojans and Munford Cougars.
Down the road in Shelby County, 27,900 Memphis Light, Gas and Water customers were impacted by outages as a result of severe weather caused by the remnants of Hurricane Laura. There are currently 4,709 customers without power. Full restoration was expected by Monday.
Damage is widespread across the county, including numerous damaged utility poles and downed wires. Although MLGW crews were prepared for the storm, continuing rain and wind are hampering the restoration process. Utility crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power to everyone affected. Four outside crews are assisting MLGW with restoration efforts.
Customers can report outages and get updates on restoration efforts by using MLGW My Account. Customers can also call 544-6500 to report outages and get status updates. Important MLGW contact information for customers:
• Outage Reporting: 544-6500
• Emergency: 528-4465 (This number should be treated like 911. Use it to report gas leaks and downed electrical lines.)
• Customer Care Center: 544-6549
• Online Outage Center: mlgw.com/home/outage center
As more intricate repairs continue at the neighborhood and individual home level, MLGW asks customers who have not been restored to call 544-6500 to ensure the utility is aware of the outage.
