The first round of the District 15-3A Girls Basketball Tournament opened for the Millington Lady Trojans on the road Friday night at Bolton High School. In order to advance to the 2026 Tournament site at Fayette-Ware, Millington had to eliminate their rival Bolton. The Lady Trojans increased their 23-13 halftime advantage to a 42-30 victory and booked a date for Regionals. Lady Trojan senior Alexis Williamson kept Millington flowing with a layup to start the third quarter. Then her teammate Ja’Kilah Johnson drilled a triple to make the score 28-15. Layla Batts added to the Millington second half surge with a drive to the rim for two points and a 30-15 lead.
Bolton made a mini rally to cut the deficit to 31-25 later in the period. Kennedy Bady scored the final bucket of the third quarter to give Millington a 33-25 advantage.
The Lady Trojans outscored Bolton 9-5 in the final quarter to earn the 12-point win and a trip to Fayette-Ware.
