Legendary basketball coach Terry Tippett brought his Evangelical Christian School Eagles to Tipton-Rosemark Academy last week. The Eagles used a team approach and the inside/outside combination of Mitch Weatherford and Adam Sienkiewicz to beat the host Rebels 60-25. TRA entered the contest in the TRA Gymnasium without starters “Johnie Basketball” Johnie Sanfratello (knee) and Ryan “Duff Man” Duffy (foot). Rebels Head Coach David Hunt had to search for offense and a interior presence elsewhere. TRA forward AJ Hightower and Shelton Spence tried to be that solution hitting individual three-pointers in the first quarter. But the Eagles were still ahead 19-6 after eight minutes. TRA held ECS to 11 points in the second quarter but only manage 7 points behind a Darien Weakley  jumper, Tino Garibay  drive to the rim and Spence triple. The Eagles led 30-13 at the break.

The Eagles tallied 30 points in the second half as well while holding the Rebels to 12 points. TRA’s Preston Trainor scored 5 points in the third quarter with a layup and three-pointer.
