Spring sports were in full swing last week on the campus of Tipton-Rosemark Academy. The Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels took on league rivals the Sacred Heart Knights April 12 in a doubleheader after Monday night’s game in Jackson was postponed. The two squads took to the Rebel Baseball Field with TRA winning both games. The Rebels outlasted Sacred Heart 9-4 in the first contest and came back in the nightcap winning 9-3. The Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels spent hours trying to get their field prepared for the arrival of the Trinity Christian Academy Lions April 12. After several attempts to drain the field, the only option left was to move the contest next door to the Rebel Football Stadium. The Rebels moved the goals and painted the field. Then still had to take on the Lions. Trinity built a 2-0 lead by halftime and surged ahead 6-1 later to prevail over the gamed Rebels. The Tipton-Rosemark Academy Lady Rebels welcomed one of the best teams in the Mid-South to Lady Rebel Field for a scheduled game April 12. But the two coaches involved had an idea — let’s play two. Looking to test their squads, the TRA Lady Rebels challenged the Lewisburg Lady Patriots to a pair of softball contests. Lewisburg won the first game 3-0 powered by a home run. The Lady Patriots started off game two with another dinger. But TRA had some firepower in the second game scoring 9 runs. But that wasn’t enough as Lewisburg prevailed in game two 11-9.
