Crews have been working on creating the visual of Longhorn Steakhouse throughout December. The Millington Planning Commission has approved a Site Plan submitted for construction of a Longhorn Steakhouse restaurant at the intersection of Highway 51 and West Union Road earlier this year. Commission members took the action during their June 19 regular monthly meeting on a motion offered by Leanna Dagen and seconded by Mike Caruthers. The motion was passed by four affirmative votes, with Brenda Barber, David Bodkin and Chairman Chuck Hurt Jr. absent. City Planner Nathaniel McHaffie said the 5,780-square-foot restaurant will be constructed on the “first outparcel” east of the Forked River Commons shopping center. He noted that the 1.55-acre property is zoned B-2, General Commercial. As intended with the Forked River Commons plans, McHaffie said, access will be provided from a shared driveway on the northwest side that is already being created for the shopping center.
