Friday morning the ‘grand opening’ of the second Millington Dollar Tree took place at 5095 West Union with dozens pouring into the new establishment throughout business hours. The first Dollar Tree is located at 7858 Church Street, recently signing a multi-year lease to remain open. The Millington Board of Mayor and Aldermen unanimously approved a Development Agreement for the new Dollar Tree store at West Union Road and Creek Mill Court back in May 2023. At its April 17 meeting, the Millington Planning Commission approved an estimated bond amount of $102,151.92. City Planner Nathaniel McHaffie noted that it will cover grading, erosion control and work in the public right of way. The commission approved a Site Plan during its March 20, 2023 meeting.
