Construction continued at the corner of West Union and Wilkinsville throughout March. The structure started to take form and the vision of the new VA Hospital is closer to a conclusion (the Millington Community Based Outpatient Clinic). The site of the former E.A. Harrold Elementary will be the new home of a VA medical facility. The area has about 3,500 veterans actively using the VA system with most going to Austin Peay or the main facility (Downtown Memphis). There’s about 12,000 veterans in the area. There’s another 7,500 that occasionally touch the system.
