Last year news broke of Millington Municipal Schools working out a deal for the old E.A. Harrold Elementary School building. At the beginning of 2023, the Millington Planning Commission approved a Site Plan for renovation of the former Millington Municipal Schools’ property for its use as a Veterans Administration clinic. City Planner Nathaniel McHaffie said the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs intends to establish a community-based outpatient clinic in the 36,584-square-foot former school building at 4943 West Union Road. He noted that the building will be purchased by Dublin EDT JV LLC of Marietta, Ga., and the VA will lease it from the company for a guaranteed 20-year period that will be renewable.
