The construction of the LongHorn Steakhouse on the west side of Highway 51 is taking shape daily. Millington Board of Aldermen  took the action during their Aug. 14 regular monthly meeting on a motion offered by Alderman Thomas McGhee and seconded by Alderman Chris Ford. A resolution to approve the agreement states that Rare Hospitality International Inc. owns a 1.55-acre tract zoned B-2, General Commercial, in the northwest corner of the intersection of Highway 51 and West Union Road and desires to develop the site into a LongHorn Steakhouse restaurant. City Planner Nathaniel McHaffie told the commission that the 5,780-square-foot restaurant will be constructed on the “first outparcel” east of the Forked River Commons shopping center.
