It’s going to be an extremely busy week for the Black and Gold Baseball, Softball and Soccer teams and the stakes are high.

State tournament berths are on the line and it gets underway today for these Millington Central Trojan teams.

The Lady Trojan Softball team has already gone back to back in winning the regular season and district tournament championships. The Lady Trojans are set out to make it two in a row in the Region 8-3A Tournament when they open play vs. the Hamilton Lady Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Win and the Lady Trojans advance to the Region championship game on Wednesday. Victory on Monday also guarantees a Sectional birth on Friday or either Saturday.

The Trojan Soccer team finished off their back-to-back regular season and District 15-3A Tournament championships with a thrilling 2-1 win in overtime vs. the Haywood Tomcats last Friday. They start Region Tournament play with a match vs. the Craigmont Chiefs on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. A win for Millington and the Trojans would advance to the title game on Thursday and qualify for a Sectional game on Saturday.

The Trojan Baseball team had a walk-off 2-1 win over the Fayette-Ware Wildcats on Saturday to earn their own back-to-back regular season and tournament championships for not only the district but the Region. The Sectional Series will start Thursday with a doubleheader against the Dyer County Choctaws. Games will be at 4:30 and 7 p.m. This is a best 2 out of 3 series with all of the games being played in Millington.

SCHEDULE RECAP:

Softball-Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Saturday

Soccer-Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

Baseball-Thursday doubleheader and the if necessary game would be Saturday at 1 p.m.
