Several Millington Trojans made the trip up to Charlotte Saturday for the TSSAA Boys Wrestling Sectionals. When the day concluded, four Trojans earned spots in the upcoming 2022 TSSAA Wrestling Championships (Division I Class A, Division I Class AA, Girls) to be held at the Williamson County Ag Exposition Arena Thursday to Saturday.
The quartet of Millington grapplers to reach State were Will Howard (106), Garrett Haley (138), DeAnton Yarbrough (152) and TJ Graves (285).
Here is the schedule for the State Championships: Friday, February 25, 7 a.m. with gates opening 8 p.m. Weigh-Ins are at 10 a.m. with consolations (First Round) 11:45 a.m. Estimated Break 11:45-noon. Championship Semifinals Consolations start at noon (Second, Third Rounds) immediately following Championship Semifinals 5:30 p.m. Estimated Break 5:30–6:30 p.m. 6:30 p.m. Consolation Semifinals Rounds should be completed by 8:30 p.m. Saturday, February 26 7 a.m. gates open 8 a.m. Weigh-Ins are 10 a.m. Third and Fifth Place matches are at 2 p.m. Championship Finals Rounds should be completed by 5:30 p.m.
