Star Staff Reports

The Junior Varsity/Freshman City Championship Tournament was held Jan. 17.

The younger Millington Trojan wrestlers had a “fantastic” showing. Coming up for the Trojans this Thursday will be Senior Night against Briarcrest at the Millington Wrestling Gymnasium near the Millington Municipal Schools Central Office. Wrestling starts at 6 pm.

At the JV and Freshmen City Championships yesterday at Collierville High School almost every Trojan grappler placed.

In the JV division, JV Will Howard Alejandro Guiterrez, Andrew Hoskins, and Brian Hernandez all finished first place in their weight classes. Rodrell Yarbrough, Skylar Cantrell, and Wesley Bishop took second place. Dylan Chapman, Nathan Dickson, and Javion Todd all finished in third place.

In the Freshmen Division, Noah Stevens took first place, James Tuepker, Cameron Alafa, and Jamal Newsome all took third place in their weight classes. It was a great showing by our young wrestlers.
