Traveling nearly two hours away to Selmer gave the Millington Trojans a chance for their best performance of the 2022 season. Millington (5-4) dominated the McNairy Central Bobcats for a 40-7 victory. The Trojans jumped out 40-0 after three quarters in the non-regional matchup.

Millington took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when junior signal caller McCoy Pugh hit Blake Garner with a 34-yard touchdown. Then the Trojans rolled up 17 points in the second quarter starting with a Pugh to Chase Michael 20-yard TD pass.

Millington’s 14-0 lead grew to 21-0 when Pugh threw his third touchdown of the night with Joseph Tuepker on the receiving end of a 22 yard touchdown.

The Trojans were ahead 24-0 at halftime when Michael added a 30-yard field goal.

Millington iced the game in the third quarter when Jaydon Williams capped off a drive with a 2-yard TD run. The Trojans were ahead 33-0 after a Bobcat snap over the punter’s head went out of the end zone.

Millington’s final touchdown of the night came courtesy of J’vion Todd with a 3-yard run.

McNairy Central (1-9) had the final score of the night when Jackson Overton broke loose for a 71-yard touchdown run.

The Bobcats were limited to 92 total yards on the night. Meanwhile the Trojans racked up 393 yards. Pugh passed for 193 yards and added 62 yards on the ground.

The Trojans will close out the regular season this Friday at home with Senior Night vs. Bolivar Central.
