The Millington Trojans Basketball team has really picked things up on the offensive end this season averaging almost 70 points a game. However, the story of the night on Senior Night vs. Craigmont was the Millington defense. The Trojans had beaten the Chiefs prior 78-51 in Memphis and had actually trailed in that game at the half before outscoring Craigmont 55-25 in the second half.

The rematch was trending similarly for about a quarter. The Trojans only led 13-10 after one period before outscoring Craigmont 19-6 in the second quarter and cruising to a 76-32 victory. The win improves the Trojans record to 13-8 and 4-2 in league play with two regular season games remaining as they try to lock down one of the top 3 spots in the district (which would automatically qualify the Trojans for Region play).

All six seniors contributed with Diego Reyes scoring 8 points and 11 rebounds. Josh Harris had  4 points and 10 rebounds as the Trojans big men dominated the boards.

BJ Gilmore finished with 16 points ahead of his signing to Colombia State this week. Chris Barnes had 8 points and 6 steals. Winston Moore finished with a bucket, 4 assists and 3 steals and crowd favorite Esteban Barbosa sent the student section into a frenzy with his basket to close out the game. Junior Seth Grandberry led Millington with 21 which is impressive considering he didn’t even take a shot until midway through the second quarter.
