The Millington Trojans raised their win total to five on Tuesday Aug. 17 at Forest Hill Golf Course with a win over the Brighton Cardinals. The score was 174-189 in favor of the Trojans. Andrew Westmoreland was the medalist with a 38. Other qualifying scores were recorded by Matthew Westmoreland, Matthew Johnson, Connor Hall and Alex Jennings.
The Lady Trojans were defeated by the Brighton Lady Cardinals at Forest Hill Golf Course that day. The Lady Trojans were led by Maddie Roberts with a 51. Hayley Fiene and Emily McKell both shot a 54.
The Trojans participated in the Shelby County Amateur Championship held at Fox Meadows later in the week. They placed fourth out of the 11 teams with a score of 329. Andrew Westmoreland made a birdie on the third playoff hole to become the Medalist with an 1 over par 72. The other Trojans contributing to a successful day of golf were Matthew Westmoreland with a 78, Matthew Johnson with a 87, Connor Hall with a 92 and Alex Jennings with a 94.
Roberts was the lone participant for the Lady Trojans at the Shelby County Tournament last Friday at Fox Meadows. She battled through rainy and swampy conditions to post a score of 102.
