NASHVILLE \u2014 State Senator Paul Rose (R-Covington) announced Monday that Baptist Memorial Hospital – Tipton is set to receive $136,545 in a Rural Hospital Readiness Grant.
The grant was made possible under a COVID-19 response appropriation added to the state\u2019s budget by the General Assembly in March and supported by Senator Rose.
\u201cOur rural hospitals and healthcare providers have a tremendously important role to play in the health of our communities and I am very pleased these funds will aid them during the challenging time of the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d said Sen. Rose. \u201cI appreciate Governor Lee and our state officials for their role in awarding these funds.\u201d
The COVID-19 response appropriation provided $10 million in Small and Rural Hospital Readiness Grants that are going to support hospitals facing financial strain due to effects of the virus.
The funds, capped at $500,000 per hospital, are distributed by the Tennessee Department of Finance & Administration.
