Star Staff Reports
Woodstock Cuba Saddle Club (WCSC) was founded in 1961 and in the past years the members have voted on their Royalty which consists of Queen, Princess and Buckaroo Princess.   For the third year in a row, WCSC held a Royalty show for their Queen and Princess contestants and this year they included the Buckaroo Princess division.   The Royalty Show was held on April 23 and the weather did not go as planned with no rain in the forecast the show was scheduled to start at 3 p.m. But at 2:30 the bottom fell out and rain came down eventually slowing down some. The Royalty contestant’s cowgirl up’d and put their boots on and competed in between downpours in all categories of the competition and all had a great attitude about it.  A total of 10 girls tired out with four girls competing for the title of Buckaroo Princess, two girls competing for the title of Princess and four girls competed for the title of Queen.  The Queens and Princesses were judged on a horsemanship pattern which was followed up with horsemanship interview, then they sat down with the judges for a one on one interview and they were scored on their personality/appearance in both of those categories.  They finished the show with a test on WCSC Rule book and parts of the saddle and horse.  The Buckaroo Princesses were judged on horsemanship, personality/appearance and a brief interview.  The judges were 2017 Miss Rodeo Tennessee Simone Taylor, Former Miss Tennessee High School Rodeo Queen and former Miss Rodeo Tennessee Sue Lynn Perry and former Miss Rodeo of the Mid-South and former SASCA Queen Lori Simpson Pope  and the winners were Madi Trouy for 2017 Buckaroo Princess, Kelsey Stimpson for 2017 Princess and Jena Davis for 2017 Queen.  Woodstock Cuba Saddle Club shows every Friday night (weather permitting) at 7:30 p.m.  For more information about WCSC, contact President John Morgan 412-0327.  You can also follow WCSC on Facebook or visit their website http://www.mywcsc.com
