The Millington Board of Mayor and Aldermen has adopted a resolution to award a bid submitted for renovations to Fire Station No. 1.
Board members took the action during their Feb. 8 regular monthly meeting on a motion offered by Alderman Al Bell and seconded by Alderman Jon Crisp.
The motion was passed by six affirmative votes, with Alderman Don Lowry absent.
City Finance Director John Trusty said bids were received from four companies.
The low bidder was York Construction Services LLC for $51,888.
The resolution states that the renovations will primarily consist of:
(1) demolition and replacement of two and a half bathrooms;
(2) replacement of the existing floor with a vinyl hardwood floor; and
(3) painting the fire station and fire administrative offices, excluding the vehicle bay.
The resolution also states that the city will directly provide material for the renovations consisting of toilets, sinks, grab bars, vinyl hardwood floor, bath fixtures and valves, tile, mortar and grout.
All other material is included in the contractor’s bid price.
