Star Staff Reports The Family Gathering is what we call ourselves. It consists of about  45 of Audrey and Barney Lewis’ family member and relatives. Several come down from Festus, Missouri each year to participate in the Millington Christmas Parade and have their family Christmas at the Lewis home. For the past few years we have put a float into the Millington Christmas parade, family members make or purchase costumes to go along with the float theme, and practice a dance or act that coincides with the float theme and follow behind the float. This year we also included a Neighborhood Winter Wonderland Festival, in which we hosted a fun filled evening with carolers in Victorian costumes, Santa and elves for pictures and getting the kiddies Christmas wish lists and hot chocolate, popcorn and fruit were served. It was a success with neighbors brining their children to take pictures with Santa, and enjoying some snacks and hot chocolate while listening to the carolers singing joyous Christmas carols. Neighbors also took the opportunity to sign up for the neighborhood Christmas lighting and decorating contest hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Lewis.  Judging will be Dec. 20 and they are hoping for a huge success and plan on continuing this yearly.  “We are hoping this will set the mood for neighbors to get to know each other which encourages communication and discourages crime and blithe in our neighborhood”, said Audrey Lewis. Many thanks to friends, relatives and family and special thanks to Millington resident Dorothy A. Kruzik for the donation of the Christmas decorations in memory of her late husband Edward R. Kruzik.

Barney and Audrey Lewis wish everyone a very happy and blessed Christmas.
